What I Want: Gold Trousers. 6 Gorgeous Styles You’ll Covet, Too.

One easy way to score in the game of fashion this season is to take on the heaviest metal of all: [insert sounds of air horns and lots of colorful confetti]

No matter what your shape or size, I’ve mined the internets and dug up a few fabulous options to consider!
For The Creatives: Matthew Williamson (runway shot above, left) plays with just the right textures of silk and fur and makes an otherwise fancy material casual with a camel shoe. I love how Anthropologie (above, right) artfully made the trend into a sweater/pant/bootie situation that’s easily digested but still very unique. Pairing your gold pants with a sweater is a fantastic play of texture and fabrics. The wider the knit or fluffier the fabric the better.

Anthro’s pants are not available anymore, but I adore these poly blend cigarette trousers from Max Studio ($198). Pair with a gorg blue as shown above, or even a beautiful olive green blouse would be a beautiful, artsy combo! Save your neons and brights for spring.

For The Working Girls: The same brocade trouser can be made all the more work-place approps with the right styling. Opt for an ivory or white blouse, black blazer, and a fantastic black pump (j’adore these Elizabeth & James‘) or flats if you’re the running-around type. Load up on a fab gold cuff and a drop earring, especially if your days tend to bleed into night time fanciness. I adore these cotton brocade crop trousers from Tibi ($475).

More subtly and with an on-trend jacquard print, Zara’s capri pants ($80).

DSquared2 also makes a covetable pair of trousers now on sale! ($621)

For You PYT’s: You youngin’s can get away with the edgy, glittery, brighter items that celebrate your youth! I love the sheen of a dulled wax denim Seven for All Mankind ($275) jeans. For daytime, pop on some suede black booties (military inspired combat boots/Doc Martens, motorcycle boots, or southwest suede casual boots all work!) and an oversized black or ivory (or mix!) sweater, and dress it up at night with a pump, rolled cuff, and cute camisole. A flannel around the waist could be a casual way to balance the sexy cami and give you an extra layer for chilly weather (add a fauz fur vest for a final layer if you need it!).

Need more rock and less chic? Free People’s painted distressed leather slight drop crotch skinnies ($498) are so for you. these little snots have so much attitude you just want to grab them, and squeeze them, and hold them so tight! Pair them with a white v-neck t-shirt and awesome black belt. Add booties or platforms and you’re literally, seriously, entirely, amazingly, cornily, jealousy-inducingly golden.
