Best Dressed of The Met Gala 2014

What a strange year! It was as if a gaggle of gala-goer’s just completely scored the evening’s theme of “pretty” inspired by the Museum’s subject, Charles James. Perhaps no one wanted last year’s punk theme to ever not be a theme again! Usual favorites like Michelle Williams, Elizabeth Olsen and Alexa Chung took bewilderingly to short dresses more suited for a film junket than any red carpet, much less The Met Gala! Then some bolder choices lacked any sort of reverence to the occasion despite being altogether astounding like Cara Delevigne in Stella McCartney and Rosie Huntington-Whitely in Balmain. Instead, we saw a few b-listers breakout into serious gorgeousness and my usual top notch A-listers not at all disappointing. Here, my favorite statement-making beauties who rocked the theme and the carpet with exquisite perfection:

And last and totally my favorite, Dakota Johnson in Jason Wu. She not only pulled off the gloves, but she rocked minimal elegance and evening glamour so perfectly. And that color blue!

Finally, I’m not one to post any sort of negative anything towards celebs, but can I ask, wtf about Kanye’s tight pants? It’s one thing for Karl to pull it off. But boy did they just look so poser-y on Kanye! OK, first and last red carpet rant ever!
kanyes pants are sooooo tight
