Like we really need another tee-shirt line… But the thing is, when you have a cool, super soft tee that is cut in such a chic way that it makes you look like you’re a million bucks, well, yes, we really do need another tee-shirt line (like this one). I’m obsessed with Zoe Karssen‘s new line of tees and sweatshirts. The Dutch designers (there’s two of ’em) add equal parts chic and cheekiness to rock n’ roll and dirtiness. In other words, tres parfait.
Of course, with Tim Gunn on board your team, your fall launch party is going to be tres chic. Lucky Brand Jeans (owned by Liz Claiborne where Tim is the Creative Director) let it all go at Eveleigh last night, where Tim, Busy Phillips, Sarah Hyland, The Veronicas and Amy Smart got down to DJ Mia Moretti’s ridiculous tunes (‘Love Shack?!’ Thank you!).
My very first “What to Wear” tutorial is up on YouTube! I’ll be posting these every other week and they will include useful, unique ideas and style tips to help you decide what to wear to your everyday events (no matter your age, income or occupation!). I want to help you eradicate “What Am I Going to Wear?!?” out of your daily vernacular.
While ladies led in red this year at the Emmys (a favorite red carpet color of mine, jsyk), I was mostly aken with the ladies who didn’t wear red. Above, Julie Bowen in Oscar de la Renta, humbly killing it, Lena Heady (whoever she is!) covered head to toe and still looking be-yond sexy, below… The stars that stole the show were the one’s who stepped outside the sartorial box and owned the red
Maybe it’s because I know what her stylist had to do to get her undergarments just perfect on the nude Rodarte dress Taylor Swift wore to the designers’ show last week, but I can’t believe there wasn’t a bigger fuss in the fashion industry over the pairing of the country princess with rebellious coutouriers from unlikely Pasadena (my hometown, btdubs!), CA.
As I was filming The Fashion Statement on location at Lincoln Center during NYFW, a New York Times photog, unbeknownst to me, snapped up some shots of me and my producer, Ryan Templeton leaving us with this gorgeous photo. So exciting, right?
BREAKING! I got new shoes!!!
OK, fine, I know this isn’t like super dupes incredibly important news, especially after I just launched my first ever fashion news show on YouTube (!!!), BUT, after trying to snag the Miu Miu calf hair and glitter pump at three different locations on my first day in NYC, I soooo needed new fabulous shoes!
For those who think French fashion is arrogant and shishi, I present you with Lanvin’s Fall ad video. It not only shows off the fun side of fashion while being uber chic, it shows off an often neglected sense of humor. Genius, Alber!
You can bet that I’ll be pulling some pieces from Ralph Lauren’s ridiculously glamourous, orient-meets-flapper-girl Fall 2011 Ready to Wear show for my clients. Luxurious, now, classic, inspired, artistic and entirely original, these are sure bets, but not safe bets. These are just a few of my favorite looks.
