4 Shorts for 4th of July Fun!

There is so much that I love about July in general and the 4th of July in particular. Celebrating Independence Day has always been as exciting as celebrating my own birthday. It embodies everything I love about life: warmth, friendship, ponytails, celebration of life and freedom,  fireworks displays, pop music, pool time, guacamole and watermelon.

OK, there are more things I love about life, but these things are just some of the ones that make the 4th so great! I also love dressing up for the 5th, and this year, I’ll undoubtedly spend it in shorts. Here are 4 shorts for the 4th that [CORNY PUN ALERT!] light my fireworks.

★ IKAT! I adore Ikat and how versatile it is for your wardrobe. It’s gorgeous matched, it’s fabulous clashed, and it shines when combined with a different pattern! Urban Outfitters’ Ecote running shorts ($39) is adorbs, and I’m super obsessed with Joie’s Layana silk boxer shorts ($158) as you may have seen in a recent video on my YouTube channel.

|P.S. Check out some of my favorite summer accessories!|

★ STARS & STRIPES! I know it’s so patriotic, but it’s also so fabulous to play with stripes and star prints! J.Crews Horizontal stripes are made flattering with front pleats ($65) while a wide vertical stripe on NastyGal’s patriotic piece ($98) [shown left] are beyond party-worthy.

★ SCALLOP! Let this summer be your banner year for your legs with an adorable pair of scalloped shorts! J.Crew hopped on the trend with cute khaki coulottes that beg for an adorable thin belt and printed top ($120). Nastygal.com also has an adorable yellow pair that are high-waisted for you vintage lovers ($78)! Lipsy London ($53) has a sweet coral pair, but the super wide scallop might not be for everyone (e.g. bigger thighs should not consider).

★ TAILORED MEN’S! I recently snagged a pair of BOY. Band of Outsiders black shorts at Wasteland for $40, and they’ve been a summer staple. A great way to stay cool in the heat and still keep your style on the sophisticated side, snag a tailored short like these Modcloth beauts ($45). If you have a tush, your first stop for great tailored shorts HAS to be Bebe. The pay great attention to fit and detail, and surprisingly or the brand, are very timeless and classic. Take a peek at their amazing selection of linen, silk, and satin shorts! Express also has amazingly affordable and generally great fitting shorts, too!
Hope you have a super safe and fabulous 4th! And please tweet me pics of YOUR shorts, and be sure to follow me on Twitter to see mine. Smooches!
